Getting Started in EVE Online

Welcome to EVE Online, a vast and immersive space sandbox where you can explore, trade, mine, fight, and carve out your own path in a player-driven universe. This tutorial will guide you through the essential steps to get started in EVE Online and help you begin your exciting journey among the stars.

Step 1: Create an Account

Visit the EVE Online website and create a new account. You can choose from a free-to-play Alpha account or subscribe to an Omega account for additional benefits. Once registered, download and install the EVE Online client on your computer. If you haven't created an account yet, feel free to use our referral link at evereferral.com in order to help you get started!

Step 2: Character Creation

Upon launching the game, you will be prompted to create your character. Choose your race and customize your appearance. Each race has its unique attributes, but you can train any skill regardless of your starting race.

Step 3: New Player Experience (NPE)

EVE Online has a comprehensive New Player Experience that introduces you to the game mechanics and concepts. Follow the tutorial missions to learn the basics of movement, combat, mining, and more. The NPE will also guide you through important user interface elements and introduce you to your first ship.

Step 4: Set Your Goals

EVE Online is a sandbox, which means you decide what you want to do. Set your goals based on your interests. Whether it's exploring the unknown, becoming a pirate, joining a corporation, or becoming an industrialist, EVE offers endless possibilities.

Step 5: Training Skills

In EVE, your character learns skills over time, even when you're not playing. Access your skill queue to select the skills you want to train. As a new player, focus on essential skills like spaceship piloting, weapon proficiency, and core support skills to improve your ship and character's capabilities.

Step 6: Join a Corporation

Joining a corporation is highly recommended in EVE Online. Corporations are player-run organizations that offer support, camaraderie, and shared goals. Look for a corporation that aligns with your interests and goals. Joining a corp can significantly enhance your EVE experience.

Step 7: Earn ISK (In-Game Currency)

ISK is the primary in-game currency used in EVE Online. You can earn ISK by completing missions, mining resources, trading goods, or engaging in PVP activities. Invest your ISK wisely, upgrading your ship, equipment, or trading on the market.

Step 8: Explore the Universe

EVE Online's universe is vast and full of wonders waiting to be discovered. Use the star map to find systems to explore, uncover secrets, and potentially find hidden riches. Be cautious, though; space can be dangerous.

Step 9: Engage in PVP

PVP is an integral part of EVE Online. As you become more experienced and confident, venture into low-security or null-security space to engage in thrilling PVP encounters. Keep in mind that in EVE, losing a ship is a possibility, so always be prepared for the worst.

Step 10: Continue Learning

EVE Online has a steep learning curve, and there is always something new to learn. Join community channels, read guides, watch videos, and ask questions. The EVE Online community is helpful and welcoming to new players.

Remember, EVE Online is about the journey, not just the destination. Take your time, experiment, and enjoy the diverse experiences this unique universe has to offer. Fly safe and have fun!
